Data Logging in Diesel Engine Emissions Control Applications

Single solution for diesel engine monitoring applications

Single solution for diesel engine monitoring applications

Recent local, state and federal mandates such as RICE NESHAP require the reduction of harmful emissions (both particulate and NOx) from diesel engines used in off-road equipment, generators and more. After the emissions reduction equipment has been installed, it’s also necessary to monitor engine performance. Authored by CAS DataLoggers, this paper will review the datalogging requirements for this application, the sensors required, and sensor mounting considerations. Read more on our White Papers page.

Fixing the 1st Column in a CSV File From a dataTaker DT8X Series 2 or 3

Intelligent dataTaker Data Loggers Export Into Excel and Other Spreadsheets
CHESTERLAND OH—April 19, 2013

ftp_dataloggerOur dataTaker data loggers are commonly used in industrial applications to log, save and export data. The dataTaker DT8X series can sample at sub-second ranges (15-20hz), but since that speed is shared across all the inputs, it is seldom used. In these cases, the CSV file produced by a dataTaker DT8X data logger running the DEX programming environment can display strangely in Excel. CAS DataLoggers Technical Support has made this brief tutorial for users who want a quick fix if this should occur. Read more on our dataTaker Technical Articles page.

welcomes you to our new series showing unique and challenging applications our customers have tackled using their dataTaker data loggers. An interesting project that one of our customers recently undertook involved quality control testing for batteries coming down an assembly line where they had to be tested for voltage. One of these battery types needs to be manually tested, while the other can be automatically tested using the company’s own text fixture. Read more on our Product Announcements page.
