Single solution for diesel engine monitoring applications
Recent local, state and federal mandates such as RICE NESHAP require the reduction of harmful emissions (both particulate and NOx) from diesel engines used in off-road equipment, generators and more. After the emissions reduction equipment has been installed, it’s also necessary to monitor engine performance. Authored by CAS DataLoggers, this paper will review the datalogging requirements for this application, the sensors required, and sensor mounting considerations. Read more on our White Papers page.

Intelligent dataTaker Data Loggers Export Into Excel and Other Spreadsheets
CHESTERLAND OH—April 19, 2013
Our dataTaker data loggers are commonly used in industrial applications to log, save and export data. The dataTaker DT8X series can sample at sub-second ranges (15-20hz), but since that speed is shared across all the inputs, it is seldom used. In these cases, the CSV file produced by a dataTaker DT8X data logger running the DEX programming environment can display strangely in Excel. CAS DataLoggers Technical Support has made this brief tutorial for users who want a quick fix if this should occur. Read more on our dataTaker Technical Articles page.

Versatile All-in-One Data Logger for Monitoring and Control Applications
CHESTERLAND OH—March 29, 2013
A CAS Data Loggers customer who had recently purchased a dataTaker DT80 data logger called in to our tech support asking how to set it up to not only control a hydraulic valve used in materials testing, but also to only log data when the hydraulic valve was active. This would enable the user to save memory on the DT80 and streamline data organization. Check out how it was done, using the built-in interface included on all dataTaker data loggers. The intelligent solution from dataTaker
CAS DataLoggers provided the equipment monitoring system for an automotive manufacturer who needed to ensure compliance with RICE NESHAP, the EPA emissions regulation mandating that diesel engines reduce air pollutant emissions from many categories of new and existing engines. Following installation of each device, the engines had to be monitored for operating temperature, RPM, pressure and additional parameters for full compliance. Flexible dataTaker monitoring solutions
CAS DataLoggers welcomes you to our new series showing unique and challenging applications our customers have tackled using their dataTaker data loggers. An interesting project that one of our customers recently undertook involved quality control testing for batteries coming down an assembly line where they had to be tested for voltage. One of these battery types needs to be manually tested, while the other can be automatically tested using the company’s own text fixture. Read more on our Product Announcements page.
CAS DataLoggers Saves on Costs with an All-in-One System

dataTaker DT80 is the single solution
CAS DataLoggers recently provided the intelligent data logger solution for a company owning several bitumen spray trucks used to seal roads and highways. Management wanted to demonstrate their process quality to customers by recording specific information during multiple bitumen spray runs. This data would have to be collected from sensors recording several different parameters including the temperature of the bitumen, the surrounding air, engine RPM, road speed, and more.
