CAS Introduces New Low-Cost Voltage Data Logger

Lascar’s EL-OEM-3 Voltage Logger Gives Users Full Control

CHESTERLAND OH—October 4th, 2011

CAS DataLoggers has teamed up with popular manufacturer Lascar to introduce the latest in low-cost datalogging solutions: the EL-OEM-3 Voltage Data Logger. Specializing in affordable yet reliable data logging technology, Lascar offers high quality devices starting at less than $100. This new voltage logger is designed especially for users wishing to add USB datalogging functionality to their own products without having to design the necessary hardware and software themselves. Incorporating the same product features as Lascar’s standalone USB datalogging range, the new OEM-3 logger is compact enough to fit into small enclosures and offers users a wide variety of customizable functions.

The EL-OEM-3 component-style data logger measures and stores up to 64,000 voltage readings over a 0 to 2.4V d.c. measurement range, adding convenient data logging capabilities to new and existing products without requiring users to develop specific hardware and software platforms. The EL-OEM-3 is PCB mounted with a 2.54mm pitch and header sockets. With nominal 3V supply voltage and immediate and delayed logging modes, the datalogger provides ample value for a low price.

This easy-to-use solution puts several options in the owner’s hands, featuring adjustable logging rates anywhere between 1 second and every 12hrs as well as a data rollover mode allowing extended logging by overwriting the oldest data when the memory is full. Users can also easily set up the logging rate and start time, and download the stored data by connecting the data logger to a PC’s USB port and running the software. The data can then be graphed, printed and exported to other applications. The USB protocol information can be purchased to integrate the data logger into custom software. User-programmable alarm thresholds alert users the moment that measurements go out of specification.

Additionally, Lascar’s EasyLog USB control software is included free with each data logger. Easy to install, EasyLog runs under Windows 2000, XP, Vista & 7. This user-friendly software is used to set-up the data logger as well as download, graph and export data to Excel.
